Introducing Plant Recipe Standardization Project Group

From across the VF industry, we have consistently heard calls for standardization. When we look back at the history of other high tech industries, we can see that such standardized formats have helped enormously in propelling those technologies and businesses forwards (think of computing, for example, where
The AVF intends to answer these calls via Project Groups (PGs) under our Standardization and Certification Division. Amongst the first of these is the Plant Recipe Standard PG. At present, every new business has to reinvent the wheel with their plant recipe. As a result, there are nearly as many formats for this information as there are businesses! We intend to change that, creating one standard format for plant recipes. There is no risk to proprietary data, since it is only the format itself we are considering, with any such data fitting into that as per the business in question.

If you’d like to be involved with this important work, then please get in contact with Mark Horler @ mh@vertical-farming.net
