I am looking for Universities that have well rounded programs in Controlled Environment Agriculture. Well rounded is having both plant science and Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering type courses. Vertical Farming is a key aspect, along with the new challenges they pose. I am geared more towards the sensors, controls, engineering side as I have a B.S. in Computer Information Science through the college of Engineering and a MS in MIS. I wish to learn more about hydroponic growing systems and possibly work as a future consultant for the new startups that appear to be happening quite quickly in the U.S.
I am currently at The University of Arizona, but I would like to know about other options. Being 46, I bring more life experiences to these types of studies and feel I can contribute more than coming fresh out of high school. I have been trying to locate something similar in Australia. I have to believe there would be something in an area known to have desert conditions much like the south west in the U.S.
Does anyone know of alternate universities I should research, in particular Australia/New Zealand. I have considered Japan, but I am not sure that is a location I want to look into, but possibly somewhere Europe.
